It could also prove that science and religion are growing closer. The thought that we almost understand how a universe could be created is mind-boggling, and shows how far we have come in the past few decades. The Bible speaks of a separation of the wheat and chaff in the last days. One way this could happen is that as science progresses and can explain, theorize, or replicate the miracles in the scriptures, people will have to choose. Either God works through the laws of the universe that He created and we are learning some of those laws. Or science is showing that we don't need God to explain the world around us. Eventually there will be so much evidence, so much convergence of science and religion, that everyone will have to choose how they want to interpret it. I hope to point out more of these fascinating areas of convergence in future posts.
